Where are you from and/or where are you based as a Memorisely student?

I am originally from Bogotá in Colombia. I am currently in London, United Kingdom!

Here is Colombia 👇

What inspired you to pursue UX/UI and become a designer?

From college, I always focused on digital marketing between the university, and during that process, I felt that I needed something more ... I was not satisfied. During the lockdown pandemic, I dedicated myself to investigating the union between strategy and design, and between the search, I found Memoraisly, and today I am in the Bootcamp and the truth is that I do not regret making the decision to change careers and start again.

Which Bootcamp did you choose to enroll in, and why?

I always had a feeling that I wasn't satisfied with what I was doing, then when I saw  Zander's energy and passion towards UX / UI Design made me want to enroll into the UX/UI bootcamp!

What's it like to be a student in Memorisely's virtual classroom?

In the beginning, I felt a little nervous but I think that is normal because I was facing something new for me. Today I feel happy I took this jump as I was able to learn something each day and practice these new skills.

What has been your favorite part of Bootcamp so far? What's one learning that has surprised you in Bootcamp?

My favourite part of the bootcamp has been UI design! I have loved creating the buttons, using colours and creating layouts and so much more !

What is the biggest challenge you face learning UX/UI Design?

I think my biggest challenge so far has been finding why I want to change something, or add to a design or why I want to solve a problem (Design thinking)! I have also has to learn a lot more from Figma.

What are your go-to or "must have" apps?

What tunes do you listen to while designing?

I don't have a specific playlist but I like listening to suggestions of the week in my discover weekly!

Share three pieces of advice for fellow and/or future students?

  1. Books have helped me a lot to change the way I see problems as opportunities.
  2. Practice everything seen in class for those who are new like me, it is very important to be restless with the Figma or Notion tools, it helps a lot to be confident with what you are doing.
  3. Listening to podcasts there are a few that are really easy to understand and listen too!

Thanks for reading my story!
