I believe that great UX/UI design skills is vital for creating a great digital product. A team that is lacking UX capabilities will waste a lot of effort working on bad ideas. A team that is lacking UI skills will fail to properly test ideas before launching them. Equipped with the right design skills and techniques, a product team can make rapid learnings and help the business work in the right direction.

I am fascinated by how much you can learn about the problem you are trying to solve by talking with real users or potential users of your design. The problem is rarely as you expect, which is why UX work is so important. When you then wanna create a solution to your problem, it is really a lot of fun to go into the cave of focus and produce all the UI.

I love to move around a lot, so I don't need much more than my mac. However, I always like to carry a notebook to sometimes write down notes, learnings, reflections etc. I will also use a monitor when I need to focus.
The reason for attending a live bootcamp was to network with like-minded people, and learn not just from a great teacher, but also from fellow students. It's not something you can do from just watching Youtube videos.

I took the evening class to make it fit with my working schedule. Even after a long day, firing up for Memorisely class was so much fun and energetic. I am happy I prioritized a live teaching bootcamp like this, instead of just watching recorded videos.

I was surprised to how much we learned during each 1-hour session. Zander did a great job of combining theory into practice. Doing live exercises together with 9 other students gave us so many good learnings together.
β
Biggest challenge is to find time to set aside to prepare for class and digest the learnings. I really recommend giving yourself extra time to study on the side; as this is not mandatory, it just makes the experience so much more fun.

When I need to focus on reading material or brainstorming ideas - I will rely on nature sounds π§π³ π
