I enrolled in the UX/UI Design Bootcamp! I signed up for this class because the career focus is what I was passionate about. I went to Arizona State University (GO DEVILS!!) for Graphic Information with a focus in front-end web development. Which, is just a fancy way to say, graphic designer that knows a little bit of code... lol.

I am based in Kansas City, Kansas πΊπΈ

I love technology and phones! When I was a kid, I was always excited about the next apple thing that would come out. scrolling and seeing how interfaces would develop through the first year of a new product always interested me. I started out my journey in University with a focus on videography. Halfway through, I realized I liked telling a story through design rather than through storytelling... So, the next year I became a Graphic Information major!

YOU DESIGN THE FUTURE!!!! Your job is always changing and growing. Sometimes I feel like I can't keep up! You have to be able to empathize with users, while also having a sharp eye for design and user flow. Also β maybe the hardest part β not letting your ego get involved with the best thing for the product! Being a UX/UI Designer has helped me to grow personally due to always having to empathize with people you normally don't think alike.

I usually wake up around 5:30 AM and go to a boxing class; which, is just a form of male Zumba. After that, I get ready for work! At work, I design interfaces and new parts of our online banking app. From mobile deposits to referring a friend to open a checking account. You would think working for a traditional bank would be boring βBUT! It is very exciting trying to keep up with the design in fintechs like Current, Acorn, and Chime.
After work, I usually go home, grab the PUP πΆ, and take her to the dog park for some quality nature time. Then, we head home and make some dinner and usually hit Notion for some Bootcamp homework!

I have an LG 35-inch curved monitor, a Logitech K780 keyboard, and a Logitech K720 mouse. Also, a late 90's to early 2000's square Dell monitor. My desk raises and lowers depending on if I want to stand or sit. I have a Trent Green Bobblehead, Slugger Funko Pop, and Mickey Mouse desk nick nacks that my three co-workers love to mess with!
β
My work laptop connects to my two monitors. We also have phones in the office if we need to walk through our dev (development) environment for our app.
One thing that I hated when I graduated University was already feeling like I was years behind the design standards of today. I chose Memorisley because they use the tools that you will be using at your job, and the design practice that will help you land that said job. It is one of the best investments you will put into your career.

High energy, and having fun learning with awesome classmates!
β
Every zoom class with Zander and Flavio! it is one of the most engaging ways to learn.
β
The amount of research you have to do before you get to designing high fidelity prototypes. It's more than you think!
β
The fast pace turnaround times between the next lesson.
β
WELL! I have happily linked my high-energy design playlist. Try not to dance while designing ;)
